YORK Barbara Ann Payeski, 51, was ushered to heaven by the Lord's angels on Sunday, November 18, 2012, from her home. She was the companion of John Leff. Born December 20, 1960, in Savannah, Ga., she was the daughter of Bernice (Pinkney) Roberson of York and the late Elmore Roberson. She was a graduate of Jersey City Schools where she majored in academia and attended college in Delaware. Barbara studied nursing at the Phillips Institute, she attained her CNA. She served as a crossing guard for York City Schools at Devers Elementary School, where she will be missed by students and teachers. Barbara attended Unity C.O.G.I.C. she loved to sing and dance and was the number one fan of Shaun Cassidy. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Bernice Roberson; son, Jason Roberson; siblings, Melvin Roberson, Bessie Sutherland and companion, Rajaine Boodhramsingh, Toyer White; nephews, Kareem Abrams, all of York, Ezekiel Perry, of Florida, Neal Sutherland, of Maryland; nieces, Crystal Sutherland of Florida, Hailey Sutherland of Maryland; a good friend, Sherrie Bones of York; and a host of Pinkney and Bowman family and friends. A time of visitation will be on Saturday, November 24, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market Street, York. Dr. Rev. Darnell Bowman will be officiating at the Celebration of Life Service which will begin at 11 a.m.
