Harold L. Landis
York - Harold L. Landis, 88, of York, died on January 9, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of the late Florence M. (Noel) Landis. Born in Glen Rock on April 17, 1932, he was the son of the late Vernon B. and Hilda Catharine (Bankert) Landis.
Harold served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a welder at Johnson Controls from 1966 until he retired in 1998. He was also the sexton of Salem Union Church, Dover from 1967 until 1979. Harold was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, York. He loved bowling and bowled several times a week.
Harold is survived by a son Eugene B. Landis and his wife Linda of New Oxford, daughter Pamela J. Landis of York, daughter Darlene M. DuBois of Warrenton, VA, daughter Brenda I. Shearer and husband Gary of Seven Valleys, daughter Cindy D. Stambaugh and husband Lee of York, daughter Wanda M. House and her husband Skip of Burleson, TX, son Michael A. Landis and wife Wendy of Dover; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; sister Catherine Myers, sister Ruthella Delozier, brother Earl Landis and sister Pauline Gladfelter.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11:45 AM at Salem Union Cemetery - Dover, 2705 West Canal Street, Dover, those attending, please meet in the cemetery at 11:30 AM. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
