Lisa Rene Uffelman

Lisa Rene Uffelman, age 65, passed away peacefully January 5, 2021 at Atlantic General Hospital. She was born October 10, 1955 in Levittown, PA to Milton and Mary Heuberger. Lisa graduated from York Catholic High School in 1973 and from York College in 1977. After college she met the love of her life Michael Allen Uffelman. They married in Annapolis, MD on September 11, 1982.

For many years Lisa worked as a real estate agent in York, PA with Ed Saxe Real Estate and then with Century 21. She was a very caring person and found her calling working for Visiting Angels in York, PA. Lisa also loved the beach and moved from York, PA to Ocean Pines, MD in 2011. Because of her devotion to helping people, she went to work for Home Instead Senior Care.

Lisa also had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. Her dogs Katie and Ellie May Clampett filled her life with much happiness and contentment. She had a great sense of humor and would pull pranks on many of her friends. Lisa was so full of the loving grace of friendship...a friend to all, with a memory for keen detail that could span 50 some years. She knew all and remembered all and would lavish us with fond memories, long ago forgotten by most but not by our dear Lisa. Her laugh was infectious, no one could laugh like her or make you laugh like her.

Lisa is predeceased by her parents Milton and Mary Heuberger and her brother Carl Heuberger. She is survived by her loving husband Michael Uffelman. sisters Tina Lowry of Smyrna De, and Candy Nusbaum and husband Bruce of Millersville, Pa and many nieces and nephews.

I first met Lisa at Gino’s restaurant in York in the early 70s and we continued our close friendship throughout the years. We had so much fun together, traveling to Ocean City, boating on the Susquehanna River and on the boat in Maryland. I moved away but when I would come back to York, Lisa and Mike were always there to welcome me home. She was a great friend and I will truly miss her, rest in peace Lisa.

I can't imagine my adolescence without Lisa. I dare say there are many of us who's lives were made rich and wonderful and full of mirth and merry-making...I can close my eyes and see us all running down the halls of York Catholic screaming laughter with our Lisa at the head of our pack. She never lost that laughter and that is what I will keep in my heart always. We all will....

Dan and I met Lisa at Goose Harbor Marina and have so many fond memories of the time we spent with her. She always had a smile to share and I don’t think I ever heard her say an unkind word about anyone. We had many laughs and Lisa will never be forgotten. Heaven has surely received an angel. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike and all Lisa’s family and friends. RIP dear friend!

It hurts when a special person like Lisa leaves us. We became home room buddies in our freshman year at YCHS. She was such a thoughtful and caring individual to everyone around her. You will never be forgotten. Thoughts and prayers.

There is nothing that I can say to you to express how sad it is that we have lost my dear sister, Lisa. She was a light in all of our lives that made us happy and excited to be in her presence. I am only getting through this by concentrating on all of the happy memories she is a part of. She will always be there when I think of Mom and Dad and Carl. She gave of herself to them, and I am eternally grateful for all of her help in caring for Dad and Mom.
I have so many memories of her such as when we went to Washington, DC, to a book conference. She thanked me so much for turning her on to the authors we were reading in my school's reading club. She enjoyed Maeve Binchey, an Irish author, and we discussed her books on the bus ride to the conference.
She paid for my girls to take dancing lessons for years and girl scout camp a few times. She was so generous. We spent hours talking about our years in Levittown, many of her friends had older sisters that were my friends.
I remember your wedding and how special it was. She invited all of our friends from Rhode Island, including Uncle Leo and Aunt Eleanor. What a day that was! You were so lovely and kind to all of your guests on the boat.
Mike, you were the love of her life. Thank you for loving and taking care of my sister. She was so happy in your home in Ocean Pines.
She was Lisa, a force to reckon with. Every time I spent with her, I laughed until I cried.

I was fortunate to reconnect with Lisa when she was assigned to care for a friend's mom last July. Our paths had not crossed in many years, however she remembered attending a wedding and sitting next to me. She had details of the day that I had not thought of in years. Her sense of humor and the few hours we shared for several days will forever be etched in my mind. She truly was a special person. I know anyone who was ever blessed with her presence finds comfort in knowing she is spreading her wings and flying with angels.
