Patrick T. Rooney

Red Lion - Patrick T. Rooney, 65, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at his home following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Diane (Curry) Rooney. They were married on May 30, 1981 and enjoyed 39 happy years together.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at St. Joseph Church on 2935 Kingston Road in York. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am at the church with Father Joseph Tuscan, OFM, Cap. as celebrant and Father Steve Fernandes, OFM, Cap. as concelebrant. Those unable to attend the Mass may view it via a streaming video online at www.sjy.org. A private burial will be held afterward in Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Mr. Rooney was born October 4, 1955 in York, a son of the late Michael C., Sr, and Ruth E. (Kuhn) Rooney. A 1973 graduate of York Catholic High School, Pat was a faithful, lifelong member of St. Joseph Church and enjoyed watching golf, Philadelphia sports, and being outdoors on walks. His family was his greatest joy and he was theirs.

Pat is survived by his wife; children Lauren N. Rooney, John K. Rooney, and Mark C. Rooney; a brother Michael C. Rooney, Jr; three nephews; and a loving extended family.

Persons wishing to commemorate Pat's life are invited to make memorial contributions to the York County Rail Trail Authority or St. Joseph Church in York.
