Meladii LaDawn Clark

York - Meladii LaDawn Clark of York, PA, daughter of J'nea LaDawn Clark and Shannon Marques Furr, departed this life on January 5, 2021 to begin her heavenly work. Meladii was one of a kind and we take great comfort that she is now with the Lord.

To know Meladii was to love her. She was such a joy to everyone who crossed her path. Meladii was so charismatic, intelligent and kind. She always showed great compassion, empathy and a patience that was peculiar for a child her age. She created so many special bonds with everyone in her life including her "little brother", her dog-Prince. Mel was fortunate enough to visit many cities during her journey here. She especially loved the beaches and visiting the aquariums of the places she traveled. She recently took her first plane ride to Florida and was ecstatic that she as able to capture a picture of a rainbow from her window seat. She relished in that beautiful moment.

Meladii was amazing at everything she put her mind to. She was an avid reader with a superb vocabulary because she literally read everything she came across. Mel was an excellent baker with her first prepared dish being "Shepards Pie", a talented artist who worked wonderfully with paints and glues and Mel was on the way to becoming Barbie's next fashion designer with her homemade custom creations for her dolls made from socks and other random materials. Meladii was also a Professional Tik Tok'er and an aspiring model that was accepted into Barbizon Studios.

Meladii was in the third grade at the Lincoln Charter School in York. Her principle, Dr. Hart, often referred to her as the next Michelle Obama. He must have noticed her poise, grace and leadership just as we did. At Lincoln Charter, Meladii also got the chance to perform a song with her ukulele on stage and participated in a Spelling Bee. Meladii truly lived up to her name with her musical gifts. She also played the clarinet and violin. Mel also truly loved to sing-often belting out her favorite song "Scars to Your Beautiful" by Alessia Cara. Despite Mel's asthma, as much as she could, she loved to march in parades and twirl her baton with Kay's Reflections. Meladii, we know God was so pleased with your work here on Earth. Take your sweet rest.

Meladii will be truly missed by her Mother: J'nea LaDawn Clark, Father: Shannon Marques Furr, Grandmothers: Katrina Clark and Yvette Gray, Grandfathers: Carlton Rascoe and Shannon V. Furr, Great Grandmothers: Josephine Rascoe and Carolyn Gray, her Siblings: Jordan, Payton, Ashton, Kelsi, Mekhi, Dior, and Harmoni, Aunts: Oshava Washington and Amber Furr-McMichael, Uncles: Gerald Orr II, Jordan Orr, Sean Gray and Pans Furr, Dear Cousins, Keyonna Orr, Jaden and Bella McMichael, Her Godmother, Veronica Bruno, Godfather, Parish Brown, Godbrothers; A'Zjon Brown and Baron Brown.
