To The Ferguson Family, My name is Jackie and I have been a friend of Greg's for a long time. I met him through my brother when I needed a DJ. He then became a extra in our family. He had such a good heart and was like a brother to me. He always DJ'd at our anniversary parties. We have been married for 20 years and for the last 10 years of our marriage he was a part of us. I am filled with such sorry because I could not wrap my mind around the fact that he was gone. When My cousin called me to tell me I just went numb. But I just wanted to say to his wife whom he loved with all his heart, hold on and be strong, Greg is now with his father and he is happy. If given a chance to come back, I promise you he would not. He is now DJ`ing for God. Be proud of the loving person that he was and keep his memory close to your heart. God will take of you, trust and believe in him and this to shall pass. Remember I am just a phone call away... Love always:

After hearing about Greg's passing only yesterday, my heart is filled with sorrow. I have been away from Ville Platte since the age of 14 but Greg always stood out when I think of people from there. He had a spirit that drew you to him simply because of who he was. I'll never forget how funny he was and how he always had a smile on his face even as far back as then. I ran across him in years after that during softball tournaments and yet, his smile never ceased. God bless your family as you are all in my heartfelt prayers. Greg was nothing short of "good people".

Linda, we've never met, but Greg and I went to school together at Ville Platte High. I saw Greg about 3 or 4 years ago playing softball and when we saw each other, it was all silliness all over again because we hadn't seen each other since graduation. Greg was so funny, sweet, and very kind. I will always remember him because he always put a smile on my face. I was very shocked to hear of his passing. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Greg, you're home now! Rest in peace!

Linda, My mother and I became aquainted with Greg by his visits to her bakery after leaving Burns Barbecue. He noticed us viewing video tapes of his church and that's how we met. He had a great love for The Lord, his wife and his church, and that's all he talked about. He had given us a couple of CDs and when he came by in early November I promised him the next time he would come by I would have something for him. I was told he came back right before Thanksgiving and I mised him. After the holidays I called him and asked had he forgotten what I had promised. He told me at this time he had been ill and he would come by when he could. To my dismay he never made it. I was informed by my relatives who attends Lilly Grove that he had passed and I could not believe it, I'm still in shock. I did attend his service at Bethany, but I would truly love to get these handkerchiefs that I made for you all to you. My prayers are with you and your family.

Linda,
I pray that you and your family will be wrapped up in GOD's loving
arms and that he will continue to comfort you.
Today's service was such an awesome
display of love for Greg. Just as
Pastor Terry stated "We were not together today because Greg passed,
but because he lived". What a truly
wonderful celebration of his live.
I had the priviledge to umpire with
Greg at Houston Sportsplex and will always remember his eagerness to learn. He was also a teacher. One night he and I was about to umpire
and Greg took out of his umpire bag
a shine sponge. He then rubbed his dusty umpire shoes, until they looked as if the came right out of the box. He always looked his best.
I now carry a shine sponge in my umpire bag every time I go to the ballpark...Thank's Greg, you will always be remembered in love, by everyone whose lives you touched...

REMEMBER
I will remember. U gave me my name. Nourished me into a beautiful Man
I will remember U. My siblings and first bestfriends. Teaching me the little things while holding my hand.
I will remember U. The village who loved me for who I am. Family that molded me into a wonderful human being.
I will remember U. We played in fields and backyards all day long. Or at least until the night lights came on!
I will remember U. We shared moments of life together. Something as your friend I will always treasure.
I remember. You were God's gift of companionship in this lifetime. Cheerish us in your heart, soul, and mind.
So remember me my wife, family, and friends. For this is not the end just a new Beginning.
For I will be the Spirit with the biggest smile and a song. Dancing and making a joyful noise in GOD's presence ALL Day Long!

Lady Tee

January 10, 2008

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Although I did not know Greg personally, I saw him on the fields of HSP everytime I was there. God Bless the Ferguson family. Greg was one of the good guys!! Always quick with a hand shake and a kind word - and forever smiling. He will be greatly missed. May you find comfort in the lives he touched and the friends he made.

To the Ferguson Family:
I know it's hard dealing with things right now, but I hope all these kind words of how we knew Greg gives you and your family some type of peace. To know that he was nothing less of a great man and friend to all at the softball park. GOD bless you and your family.

Off in the distance you hear them coming. Everyone is excited. The drums are beating and the cymbals are clashing. It's the "human jukebox" better known as the Southern University Marching Band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Greg was a part of that excitement and drumline. Although I witnessed it, others around could feel it when he talked about it. He was just good to be around whether on or off the job.

My heart is heavy right now because a young, positive, and energetic brother is gone from us. I will miss my City coworker and my friend.

Linda, my prayers are with you and Greg's family. Stay strong in the Lord. Greg was "good people" and I know he is making a joyful noise right now.

To my friend and partner from the Houston Sportsplex, I've enjoyed every moment of umpiring the field with you.You were a solidier on & off the field. I will never forget your famous "Guns" when calling tag outs. The "Dynamic Duo" will always remember the times we laughed, your smiles and the secret code we had on the field "2 Guns - 1 Bullet". May God rest your soul.I Love you.

To the Ferguson Family:
I met Greg many years ago on the Softball Circuit and have had the pleasure of playing and umpiring softball with him. No matter what the outcome or the issues that went on during a game he played or umpired, Greg was always the same....smiling and upbeat and that made him a pleasure to know and be around. May God bless you and comfort you during this difficult time. Greg will be sorely missed but his cheerful spirit will live on in everyone he touched in such a positive way. I can only say that I am proud to have been a friend of Greg's and I miss sorely miss him too!
