We would like to thank the medical staff of Sligo University Hospital and the North West Hospice. We would especially like to thank the Sisters of Nazareth House for allowing Joe to return and spend his final night where it all began for him. A sincere thanks to Sean Feehily and Brendan at Feehily Funeral Services Sligo, for their courtesy and professionalism. We would like to thank everyone who contacted Joe during his illness and offered their support as we know this meant so much to him. A Sincere thank you to all of his Nursing friends who supported him throughout his Nursing career as well as throughout his illness. Joe was a dedicated nurse and was Director of Nursing at Retreat Nursing Home, Athlone for nearly 10 years and then for a short time in Summerville Nursing Home in Strandhill, Sligo. Joe had a special way with the elderly and he quietly touched the lives of many people with kindness, gentleness and true compassion. We will miss Joe's wonderful wit and sense of humour and we will always remember his mischievous smile, his laughter and the joy he gave us all. He touched all of our lives and made us all better people for having known him. A Mass will be celebrated In Memory of Joe On Saturday the 29th of October at 11am in St Peter and Paul Church, Athlone.
