STANFORD Joe (Joseph) - The Months' Mind Mass For the late Joe (Joseph) Stanford who died on 12 November 2025 Will be offered on Sunday, 14 December at 12 noon in Gort Church. Always loved, forever missed, and remembered with deep affection by his family. Acknowledgement and Thanks Nancy, Joe's wife, his brother Bernard, sister Patricia, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and extended family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to all who supported them during his illness and since his passing. Your kindness, presence, and prayers have been a tremendous comfort. A very special word of thanks to Geraldine Doorhy, Dad's primary carer, who went above and beyond in helping Mom care for him. We will be forever grateful for her exceptional kindness, dedication, and compassion. We wish to sincerely thank Hilary Cunningham, Viviane Doorhy, Christina Connors, and the Caremark team for the gentle and professional care they provided. To Dad's nieces and nephews for everything they did for him throughout his illness. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dad's family, friends, and neighbours, whose frequent visits over the last year brought him joy, comfort, and companionship. Your time and support meant so much to us. We extend our thanks to the grave diggers for preparing Dad's final resting place with such respect and care. Thank you to Father Tommy Marrinan for his support and for celebrating Dad's beautiful Funeral Mass. We are deeply grateful to undertaker Shane Counihan and Mike Mullins for their professionalism, compassion, and guidance during this difficult time. Thank you to Gort Town Hall, and to Mags, Breda and Fiona for providing teas and coffees. Our sincere thanks to Brian O'Halloran for the beautiful singing at Dad's funeral, and to Majella and Ciaran Dolan for live streaming the service for those who could not attend. Thank you to Sullivans Hotel for the lovely food they sent to our home and for the delicious meal provided after the funeral. We also deeply appreciate the care Dad received from Cora and Antoinette his Public Health Nurses, the Palliative Care Team, Martha and Orna and the staff of Gilmartins Pharmacy, and Dr. Piggott's surgery. Our thanks also to the many departments in Galway University Hospital and Merlin Park Hospital especially Dr. Luke O'Donnell, neurologist, for their care and support. We wish to acknowledge the Community Intervention Team, the Community Geriatric Team, Pathway Team, and the Paramedics, all of whom played a key role in helping us keep Dad at home in Ballybane, as he wished. Our thanks to Eddi for the beautiful flowers from Gort Garden Centre and to our neighbours, friends, and family for all the food and refreshments brought to the house. A special thank-you to Andrea for bringing Dad's pony to say her final goodbye - a moment of great meaning for our family. Finally, a heartfelt thank-you to Ruben, who lovingly led Dad home in his Ferguson 20 tractor, a fitting and touching tribute.
