Joseph Nix Death Notices
The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Nix
Garrybreeda, Loughrea, Galway. Formerly of Newcastlewest, Limerick.
Joe passed away peacefully on 27th August 2025 in the wonderful care of the staff of Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe and surrounded by his loving and devoted family.
Joe will be deeply missed and always remembered by his heartbroken wife Mary, his children James, Helen, Claire and Joe, his daughter-in-law Marie, son-in-law Joe and his grandchildren Garreth, Joy, Joseph, Sean and Cara.
Joe will be deeply mourned by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, his nephew Jimmy Tobin and all of his nieces and nephews, members of the extended family, neighbours, friends and his former colleagues in An Garda Siochána, of which Joe was a proud member for 39 years.
Joe will repose in Dignity Funeral Care, funeral home, Barrack Street, Loughrea (H62 DV76) on Friday 29th August from 5pm to 7pm.
Funeral cortége will arrive at St Brendan's Cathedral, Loughrea at 1.45pm on Saturday 30th August for Requiem Mass for Joe at 2pm.
Burial will take place after Mass in the Carmelite Abbey cemetery, Loughrea.
