The death has occurred of Margaret Cotter, Attymonmore, Athenry, Co.Galway and formerly of Cullairbaun, Athenry and Coolcormack, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
Peacefully on the 5th of October 2025, after bravely fighting her illness with dignity and grace, surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of St. Joseph's Ward, UHG.
Predeceased by her parents Jerry and Peggy, her brother Noel and her granddaughter Kelly.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her heartbroken children Eileen, Mairead, Alan, Sabrina, Gerry and Jason, sons in-law Ian and Colm, daughter in-law Sandra, grandchildren Ryan, Daniel, Emily, Leah, David, Áine and Maisie, great-granddaughter Sofia, sisters Lily, Mary, Nora, Ann and Ger, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and all of her wonderful friends.
Reposing at Quinn's Funeral Home, Athenry on Tuesday 7th of October from 5pm to 7pm. Arriving to the Church of The Assumption, Athenry on Wednesday 8th for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Athenry. Mass will be live streamed on

Out of respect, Margaret's home will remain strictly private to her immediate family only.

The family will be forever grateful to all her medical teams from UHG, Galway Clinic, Bon Secours Hospital, Athenry Health Centre and the Public Health Nurses. They are also grateful for the love, care and support she received from Athenry Cancer Care. Margaret made many special friends on her journey, and her family will always treasure the kindness shown to her.
