A. Ruth Imler

1932 - 2026

Ruth Imler passed away at home in Citrus Heights on March 2, 2026. She was born in DeKalb County, IN on March 21, 1932, to Menno and Zula Gerig. Ruth was the youngest of nine children. Ruth met her husband, John F. Imler, at Fort Wayne Bible College. They were married in 1953 in Auburn, IN in a ceremony officiated by John's brother, Charles Imler. In August 1971, Ruth and John moved their family from Muncie, IN, to Dunnigan, CA, where they built Campers Inn and Dunnigan Mobile Home Park. Ruth worked many years as a secretary for Senator Jim Nielsen, in both his Woodland and Capitol offices.
Ruth and John moved to Sierra Meadows Mobile Estates in 2001, where Ruth was an active member of the community; serving on committees and attending weekly Bible study and watercolor painting classes. She was known for her love of God, warm hugs and beautiful smile.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Duncan (Rick) of Arbuckle; son, Ken Imler (Juli) of Citrus Heights; six grandchildren (Amber, Nick, Keith, Kayla, Kyle, and Jared), five great-grandchildren (Jacob, Joshua, Alex, Emily, and Audrey), and many nieces & nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Imler; son, Keith J. Imler; parents, Menno and Zula Gerig; and her eight siblings (Eunice, Lois, Paul, Matthias, Maurice, Zenas, Ardon, and Dale). A Celebration of Life was held on March 21, 2026 at the Sierra Meadows Mobile Estates on what would have been her 94th birthday. Ruth was laid to rest at a graveside service for the family on March 23, 2026 at Mary's Cemetery near Woodland, CA.
