Adrian L. Goudeau, notoriously known as “Lane” was the second born of eight children on December 30, 1957, in Gary, Indiana to the parents of Romas Goudeau Jr. and Vivian Ophelia Wilburn-Littlejohn. He was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana class of 1976. Lane would go on to complete his educational journey at the Indiana College of Business & Technology.
Adrian Lane Goudeau was a man defined by his unwavering dedication, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep loyalty to both his family and his work. His life was a testament to perseverance, passion, and purpose—qualities he carried with him in every role he embraced.
Adrian’s strong work ethic began at an early age, working alongside his uncle and grandmother in the family-owned Skyline Motel and Restaurant. There, he learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and the importance of treating people with respect and care—principles that would guide him throughout his life.
As he grew, Adrian expanded his professional journey, bringing his talents and determination to Bud Plant before finding his stride as a passionate and persuasive car salesman at Gillespie Ford on Grant Street. Known for his charisma and genuine approach, Adrian had a natural ability to connect with people. He didn’t just sell cars, he built relationships, earning the trust and respect of both his customers and colleagues.
Adrian’s love for music was more than a hobby; it was a calling. This passion inspired him to venture into business ownership, where he proudly ran his own record shop. Through this endeavor, he not only shared his love of music with others but also demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.
His commitment to family remained at the heart of everything he did. Adrian took great pride in managing Goudeau’s Liquor Store, continuing the legacy of family business with dedication and care. He later served as site foreman for Lewis Construction, where his leadership, reliability, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of those he worked alongside.
He was devoted, loyal, and steadfast, always showing up for those he loved and for every responsibility he undertook. His legacy is one of strength, integrity, and an enduring commitment to excellence.
On Monday, March 16, 2026 Lane transitioned to eternal life to join his loved ones. He is preceded in death by wife, JaQuita Velez-Goudeau; father, Romas Goudeau Jr.; grandmother, Jean Goudeau Woods; mother Vivian Ophelia Wilburn-Littlejohn, step-father, Tyree Littlejohn; sister, Rona Goudeau; brother, Romas Goudeau III.
