Agnes Katherine Martin, better known as "Pug," aged 99, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 13, 2026, at her home in Sebring, FL, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 6, 1926 to James and Maggie Ellis, Pug lived a vibrant and full life characterized by her sassy, smart, and compassionate personality, always showing generosity and gratitude toward others. Over the course of nearly a century, she faced life's joys and hardships with remarkable resilience and unwavering grace. Her strength shaped generations, and she was the beginning of a long line of strong, faithful, and determined women who carry her spirit forward today.

Pug was a proud graduate of Moody High School in Arkansas, where she earned the distinction of valedictorian. Her career spanned several roles, including working as a legal secretary and office manager at a newspaper company in Allegan, Michigan. Later in life, she moved to Florida where she became well-known for her work with the Highlands County School Board, primarily at Sebring Middle School. In every season of life, she demonstrated determination, intelligence, and a quiet but steady strength that inspired those around her.

A devout member of Grace Bible Church in Sebring, FL, Pug's faith played a significant role in her life. She always looked to Jesus and often recited Psalm 23, from which she drew much of her strength and peace.

Her hobbies included watching Cardinals baseball, playing bridge, and enjoying time with her beloved family. She had a particular fondness for Dr. Pepper and Whopper Juniors. Even in her later years, her wit remained sharp and her presence strong — a testament to the resilient woman she had always been.

Pug is survived by her daughter, Kathy Martin; son and caretaker, Roger Decker; and grandchildren Tammy, Andy, Katie, Sam, Jasmine, Jessie, and Brandy, along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Skip Martin; sister Anise Dalton; and daughters Penny Decker and Nancy Martin.

A private gathering for family and close friends will be held at Lake Istokpoga in accordance with her wishes for a personal and intimate farewell at the same place her husband was lovingly remembered.

Pug's legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering faith will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. The family she built alongside her community of friends will continue to honor her memory with pride and gratitude.
