Alan Frederick Addis, born on August 27, 1948, in Dagenham, England, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, in Bakersfield, California.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Beverly Addis. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Marchand, and his brother, Gerald Addis. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Tammi Fabris and Shawn Edwards, as well as his eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Alan immigrated to the United States at the age of nine, settling in Glendale, California with his parents, Frederick and Peggy Addis, and his brothers Gerald, Paul, and David. He later raised his family in Benicia, California, before making Bakersfield his home over the past seven years.
For more than 20 years, Alan was a skilled and dedicated wallpaper installer, running his own business and earning a reputation for quality work and reliability. Outside of work, Alan found happiness in simple, meaningful pursuits. He had a lifelong love of fishing, a deep appreciation for music, and in his later years developed a passion for gardening and growing seeds, finding satisfaction in nurturing things from the ground up.
Those who knew Alan will remember him for his quiet strength, steady presence, love for his family, and enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Alan’s memory to make a donation to a charity of their choice in his name, or to one that reflects the things he loved.
