Alan Anthony Roell of Ventura passed away November 19, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. Alan was born March 27, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served honorably in the Air Force during the Viet Nam era. He was a devoted father, partner and friend. He lived a long meaningful life defined by positivity, charismatic charm and hilarious humor, and he faced every challenge with determination and heart.
Widely respected as one of the finest corrosion control technicians in his field, Alan brought expertise, pride and integrity to every project he did. He spent a great deal of his career at Channel Islands Harbor as well as Ventura Harbor Boatyard, where he earned lasting respect among his colleagues and the boatyard community.
Alan found joy in writing, playing pool, gardening and feeding wild birds. He enjoyed and loved his dog Annie and cat Taz. He loved Hawaii, particularly Maui, and spent many years on the
beaches there. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Alan is survived by his daughters, Michelle Sezzi and Ashton Reyes-Roell. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Noah and Isabella Sezzi. He leaves also his partner in life, Sherry Clover, and nephews Dale, David and Charlie Morris and niece Merrie Morris Mazzetti, as well as many other family members. Our memories of him as a patient listener, a steady presence, and a man with genuine love for life will remain in
our hearts forever. He was the Patriarch of our family.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents Frances and Elizabeth Roell and sister Collette Morris.
We would like to thank Pacific Crest Hospice, most especially Kim, for their unwavering guidance and support throughout Alan's illness. Everyone there went above and beyond in their
loving care of Alan as well as supporting his family. Per his wishes, there will be no funeral services.
Alan will be deeply missed by all who loved him. I love you Dada, may you rest in peace. I can't wait to see you again.
