Albert R Tull Jr. (Rick – Captain)
Passed away on New Years Day, 1/1/2026 at age 74.
He was born in Winter Haven FL on July 30,1951.
Proceeded in death by his parents, Albert (Jim) & Norma Tull.
Survived by his brother Tim Tull of Stockton, MD, and Sister Kathie (Kit) Tull of
Salisbury, MD. His lifelong friend Jill Teter of St. Simons Island, GA.
Captain Rick grew up in Berwyn PA. Living in Florida and Georgia most of his adult life.
Graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
Valley Forge Military Academy, Wayne PA.
Eagle Scout – Boy Scouts of America.
His early work was in the corporate world, Lever Brothers, Frito-Lay, and Pitney Bowes. His later career was as a boat Captain.
Receiving US Coast Guard License-US Merchant Marine Officer. Opportunities to run Harbors, charter Dolphin tours in Georgia. His last Captain assignment was at Suicide Bridge Restaurant, Hurlock, MD.
He was Captain of the Choptank River Queen Paddleboat. Captain Rick took tourists on sightseeing nautical journeys that included steamed crabs and fried chicken. He was passionate about educating passengers about the nautical life that surrounded them. He loved seeing the smiles on folks faces as they spotted a Crane, Egret, or Canvasback Duck on the shoreline.
There was never a greater fan of reptiles. Rick was known to have Iguanas, Turtles, Monitor Lizard (Joanna) and even an Alligator (Paul). His knowledge was extensive and often helpful to reptile habitats,
Early years waterskiing on Marshy Hope and Choptank River. Sailing on the Chesapeake and the Intracoastal Waterways. Even winning a race or two in the Yellow Canary.
To think of Captain Rick, he would be sharing a crabcake and beer with family and friends at the water’s edge.
In accordance with Captain Rick’s wishes there will be no formal service. We invite you to remember him in your own way and keep the memories in your heart.
