Celebrating the Life of Alex Jurkevich

With profound sadness and deep love, we share that Alex Jurkevich, 53, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on May 28, 1972, in New York, Alex grew up in Surfside, Florida, before settling in Woburn, Massachusetts in 1998, where he built his life and family.

Alex began his professional journey as a teacher, a role that reflected his patience and natural ability to guide and support others. He later discovered his true passion in information technology, transitioning into a long and successful career as an IT Manager. He loved computers, innovation, and problem-solving, and he earned the respect of colleagues through his knowledge, leadership, and steady presence.

Outside of work, Alex embraced life fully. He was a devoted Lego builder, a lifelong fan of video games, and a true foodie with a master palate who delighted in exploring cuisines from around the world. He loved discovering new restaurants and savoring new flavors. Traveling brought him joy, especially vacations to Aruba, a place that held special meaning for him and his family.

Above all, Alex was a devoted husband and father. He shared 25 loving years of marriage with his wife, Patty Stronach Jurkevich. Their partnership was built on loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support. He was an incredibly proud father to his daughter, Paige, who was the center of his world and his greatest accomplishment.

Alex was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Lily Jurkevich. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Patty; his cherished daughter, Paige; his sister, Lynn Jurkevich Cohen, and her husband, Barry; his nephews, Jared Margulies, Mitchell Cohen, and Jeffrey Cohen; his aunt, uncle, and many loving cousins. He also held a special place in his heart for Abigail Varano, Joshua Torres, and Colleen Cruz, who were treasured members of his extended family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Alex's life on Saturday, March 14, 2026, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Sons of Italy, 117 Swanton Street, Winchester, MA 01890.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alex's memory to Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island: https://wish.org/massri

Alex will be remembered for his intelligence, quiet strength, humor, refined tastes, and the deep love he had for his family. His impact on those who knew him will never fade, and his memory will forever be carried in the hearts of those who loved him.
