Send Flowers
Alfred James Roukey, 86 of Goffstown NH, passed away peacefully on December 26th, 2025

Alfred Roukey, fondly known as “Fred” or “Freddie”, was a man who found happiness in the simple, familiar routines of everyday life and the people who filled it. He loved driving his truck and could often be found visiting with friends at Cumberland Farms sipping coffee or visiting with his buddy at the transfer station.

Fred enjoyed sharing memories from experiences he had throughout his life, especially stories of his service in the United States Marine Corps, which he spoke of with pride and gratitude. His stories were rich with humor, experience, and an appreciation for the journey life had given him.

Fred spent his career working for several trucking companies and ultimately retired from Holmes Trucking Transportation. After retirement, he continued working part time for Pro Landscaping. He truly appreciated the opportunity the owners gave him to keep doing what he loved—driving trucks, staying active, and meeting new people along the way.

When he wasn’t working, Fred enjoyed working on vehicles and spending time puttering around the yard. He was a lifelong member of Teamsters Local 633 and valued the sense of brotherhood, loyalty, and hard work that came with it.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Constance Leonie (Jacques) Roukey of Goffstown, NH; his son James Roukey and his wife Tracy (Palys) Roukey of Manchester, NH; his son Michael Roukey of Goffstown, NH; his daughter Debora Roukey and her wife Beth Tower of Weare, NH; his sister in-law Beverly (Gardner) Roukey; many nieces and nephews, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, all holding a very special place in his heart.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, Joseph James Roukey and Laura (Lambert) Roukey; brother Joseph “Tiny” Roukey, sister Charlotte (Roukey) Blanchard; sister Ann Roukey, sister Vivian Roukey, sister Pauline “Roberta” Roukey, brother Edward Roukey, sister Diane (Roukey) Fenelus; brother Paul Roukey and sister Carol (Roukey) Thompson.

Above all else, Fred loved and valued the time he spent with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of conversation, his strong work ethic, and the genuine connections he made wherever he went. His stories, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held at the Mount Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd, Manchester, NH 0102 at 11am on January 23, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Hospice House 210 Naticook Rd, Merrimack, NH 03054 www.hhhc.org
