Alfred Alexander Singer, a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on July 10, 1941, Alfred dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his passions.
In 1961, Alfred married the love of his life, Cynthia "Claire" Didier Singer. They relocated to Slidell in 1962 and shared a beautiful life together for over six decades.
Alfred began his career as a skilled electrician and traveled the world as a maritime electrician before successfully transitioning into entrepreneurship, operating successful wholesale and retail businesses in the area.
Beyond his professional life, Alfred was an avid traveler, with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the United States. He and Claire especially loved exploring the country's National Parks and Monuments. His hobbies included the tranquility of fishing and the detailed craft of woodturning. He was a devoted member of Christ Episcopal Church in Slidell for many years.
Alfred is survived by his beloved wife, Claire Didier Singer; his two daughters, Mary Singer Slazer of Slidell, and Catherine Singer Simpson of Lacombe. He was the proud grandfather of Emily Slazer of New Orleans, Michael Slazer (Lydia) of Slidell, and Elizabeth Simpson of Kenner.
Funeral Arrangements
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at:

A private interment will be held at a later date.
