Alice Marjorie Buell (Lester), lovingly known as Marjorie, was born on May 2, 1932, in Los Angeles, California, and passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, in Camarillo, California, with family by her side, at the age of 93.
Marjorie and her husband, Donald, resided in Pacific Palisades in the early days of their marriage before moving to Malibu in 1961 to raise their family. Despite the move, they remained active members of the Pacific Palisades Community United Methodist Church. Marjorie dedicated 30 years to the church's preschool program, first as a teacher and later as its director. She also found joy in baking, quilting, sewing, and crafting for the United Methodist Women (UMW), particularly during their gatherings in the OK Room on Tuesdays. These activities brought her great happiness until she relocated to Camarillo to be closer to her family, including her beloved great-grandson.
Marjorie was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald, her daughter Polly, and her son Jeff. She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Marc), her daughter-in-law Zhanna, and her cherished grandchildren Megan, Charlie, and Mars and precious great-grandson Kayden along with extended family who loved her dearly.
Marjorie will be remembered as a kind and gentle person, with never a harsh word for anyone. Her intelligence and compassion will be remembered as a trait to be emulated. She will be greatly missed and her memory cherished. We will remember her as a loving matriarch whose warmth and care left an indelible mark on our lives.
May Marjorie's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
