It is with deepest sadness that we share the passing of the beloved Alice Rae Price (née Ehrlich) of West Orange, NJ, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Until that point, she was living a vibrant and rich life, enjoying old and newfound artistic expressions, Latin dancing, and Mah Jongg, among a wide variety of social games. Her greatest passion, however, was her deep commitment to her family, in whose life she was a central figure. She leaves behind her three children: Scott Price and his wife, Ilene; Lori Price Abrams and her husband, Rick Abrams; and Tammi Price Lall and her husband, Steeven. She demonstrated her deep devotion also to her beloved grandchildren, Jake and Jolie Price, Sonya and Micah Abrams, as well as Jake's fiancée, Carli Bershon, all of whom she adored. She also maintained a warm relationship with the late Shelly Price, with whom she raised their children in Parsippany.

Alice was born May 16, 1942, and raised in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn by her parents, Belle and Moishe Ehrlich, and grandmother, Sobel Goldberg, along with her sister, Barbara Ehrlich Bergman. That home was filled with a rich intergenerational family life, with the frequent visits from Belle's siblings and their families who came to share meals, play cards, celebrate occasions and laugh a lot. She remained devoted to those aunts and uncles, and a tribe of cousins and their children with whom she maintained relationships until the end of her life. As learned in her early life, Alice cherished family most of all, which included the many people who became family to her. A constant in her life was truly characterized by the laughter heard in the place where there was gathering and food around the table.

She had the ingenuity to craft creative solutions to fix so many things. She loved solving puzzles of all kinds. She has, in more recent years, channeled her creativity in various artistic directions, which demonstrated a wonderful latent talent, enabling her to bring forth gems through watercolor painting, knitting and crocheting, among others.

Alice was always there with a listening ear. Her heart was wise, and she was kind to the core. Her children, their spouses, grandkids and friends knew how fortunate they were to have her in their lives. Each knew that she "got" and loved them for who they are, and they celebrate that amazing legacy of love. We know she is saying a "bye for now" as she frequently said on parting company.

A funeral service for Alice was held at Temple Ner Tamid in Bloomfield on Monday, December 1st.
