Alicia Lee (Vega) Hillman, age 82, passed away on January 26, 2026, at Aultman Woodland Comfort Care Center in Canton, Ohio. She was born on March 12, 1943, in Canton, Ohio, to Henry and Sophia Vega. She was a graduate of Timken High School.
Alicia was raised within a large, close-knit Spanish family and was especially proud of her heritage as a descendant of Leandro and Josephine “Wella” Vega, who immigrated to the United States from Spain in 1913. Family was always at the center of Alicia’s life, and she cherished the strong bonds, traditions, and laughter that came with being part of such a big, loving family.
She later built a successful career in human resources and retired as Regional HR Manager for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she oversaw five offices throughout Northeast Ohio.
Alicia was married to her husband, Walter, for 44 years. She was a kind and classy lady who loved to travel and took great pride in her family. She doted on her children and grandchildren, who adored and admired her beauty, strength, and grace. In her later years, she also found joy in spreading kindness by sending greeting cards and sharing heartfelt, faith-based messages on social media that uplifted and encouraged others.
Alicia is survived by her husband, Walter; stepmother, Vicki (Eggleston) Vega; sisters, Melissa (Dan) McFarland and Cindy Kirsch; brother, Martin Kirsch; children, Timothy (Traci) Miller and Lisa (Scott) White; grandchildren, Marissa, Jarod, and Dane Miller, and Jordan and Tyler White; great-grandchildren, Mateo and Giovanni; niece and nephews, Jordan, Austin and Justin Wells, and Henry Vega III.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rebecca Ann Miller, and her brother, Henry Vega Jr.
Celebration of Life services are still being planned and will be announced at a later date.
