Allan Jay "Papa" Goodman passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, at the age of 85.
Allan was born on November 4, 1940, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Morris and Jeanette Goodman.
He built a long and respected career in the food industry, serving as Vice President and food buyer for Huddle House, Inc., and working with Alterman Foods, SYSCO Corporation, and Lieber Foods. Allan was known for his professionalism, dedication, and strong relationships throughout the industry.
An avid sports fan, Allan had a lifelong love of the game and was a passionate baseball card collector.
Allan was the beloved husband of Mary Hamp, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage until her passing in 2024. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and cherished friend. To his family, he was affectionately known as "Papa," a role he embraced with warmth, humor, and unwavering love.
Allan is survived by his children, Ann (Jon) Bignault and Neil (Amy) Goodman; his granddaughters, Sarah (Dustin) Ouellette, Sophie Bignault, Emma Goodman, and Samantha Bignault; his niece, Mia Wellons-Carlisle; and his great-grandson, Joshua Ouellette.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 18, at 10:00 a.m. Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, GA.
