Allan Paul McQuilkin, 77, of Swift Creek Township, NC, died peacefully on Jan. 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Allan was born in Johnstone, Scotland, the youngest of 12 children. He immigrated to the United States in 1956, eventually becoming a proud U.S. citizen.
He served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
Allan is survived by his wife of 53 years, EileenAnne; sons Allan and Joseph; daughter Sara; and grandchildren Gavin and Maggie, who loved their “Granda” dearly.
His family wishes to thank the staffs from UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh and the beautiful Heroe’s Way Hospice unit at the VA Medical Center in Durham for the excellent and compassionate care he received in his final days.
