Allison N. Oster

March 19, 1982 – May 7, 2025

Allison N. Oster, age 43, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on May 7, 2025, in Austin, TX. She was born to Kim and Diane Oster in Albany, NY, and grew up in Clifton Park. She later made Austin her home, where she built a rich career and community of friends.

Allison graduated from Shenendehowa High School in 2000 and went on to the University of Michigan, earning a BBA with honors in 2004 from the business school. She then received her Master of Public Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business in 2005. Allison became a CPA and worked for various accounting firms and corporations in Austin, eventually joining Atlassian in 2018, where she rose to the role of Assistant Controller.

But what truly defined Allison wasn’t her work—it was her energy, humor, and passions in life. She had a remarkable ability to forge lasting friendships and to stay connected, no matter how busy she was. She was a fantastic baker that became known for her croissants, sourdough, homemade pizzas and the annual Truffle Fest she hosted. She loved to exercise and to criticize her politicians – both of which she did daily. She enjoyed traveling for both work and leisure – especially to Italy. Above all, Allison loved her dogs, who were truly her babies. She rescued several over the years, providing them with an endless amount of care and devotion.

She is survived by her parents, Kim and Diane Oster; her sister, Stephanie Roe; Stephanie’s husband, Aaron Roe; and their son, Colin Roe. She also leaves behind her boyfriend as well as a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, and dear friends who loved her deeply. She was preceded in death by her beloved soul dog Tyrone.

Allison will be remembered for her wit, her generosity, her sass, and her unwavering presence in the lives of those she loved.

In late June, family and friends gathered at one of her favorite places—Commodore Perry—for a Celebration of Life. Memories, recipes, croissants, laughter, tears (and Texas summer sweat) were all bountiful.

If you would like to honor Allison’s memory, please consider a donation to the Austin Humane Society or the charity of your choice supporting women’s issues. Alternatively, perhaps treat yourself to a bougie getaway, because as her Instagram handle suggests, Allison’s fancy.
