Alvin Loyd Clahar, affectionately known as Boysie, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on December 24, 1934, to the late Rosyln Richard and George Clahar of Trelawny, Jamaica (Troy).
In 1970, Alvin officially migrated to the United States in hopes of creating a better life for himself and his family.
Alvin (Boysie) passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He was also known for his love of music, games, and craftsmanship.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Violet Clahar; his son, Devon Clahar; his grandson, Micheal Clahar; and his granddaughter, Shawna Williamson.
His legacy continues through his children: Yvonne Clahar-Gunter (Glaister), Carol Clahar, Marcia Clahar, Norris Clahar (Patricia), Donald Clahar (Kamara), Sandra Clahar-Williamson (Miguel), Carlene Clahar and Wayne Clahar (Karlene)
He is also survived by his loving partner, Evadnie Biggs.
Alvin leaves behind 29 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish his memory and carry forward his legacy.
Above all else, Alvin will be honored as a devoted family man who was deeply loved and strongly supported by those around him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit, his love, his lessons, and his legacy will live on for generations to come.

Services:
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Rehoboth Church of God, 1170 Blue Hills Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
Viewing will take place prior to the service at 8:30 AM.
Final Resting Place:
Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
