Amy K Stern

1954 - 2026

Amy K. Stern, 71, of Millis, Massachusetts, passed away at home on March 14, 2026, with her husband and daughter by her side.

Born on March 28, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, Amy brought a bright, uplifting presence into every space she entered. She was truly a breath of fresh air, always smiling and positive, and known for her big, beautiful laugh. She was a fountain of practical advice and fiercely supported the healing of others, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and joy.

Amy was deeply devoted to her daughter, Rachel, and cherished her role as mother. She was a strong and inspiring woman, modeling what it means to live with resilience and grace. After surviving pancreatic cancer in 2012, Amy often spoke of the years that followed as “bonus time”. She reconnected with old friends in meaningful ways, witnessed her daughter’s marriage, and deepened her partnership with her husband, Stephen, of nearly five decades.

Amy spent over 40 years working alongside Stephen, in their chiropractic office, where she served as a chiropractic assistant. She helped build a warm, welcoming environment where patients felt truly cared for. Amy’s thoughtful eye for beauty shaped the office into a comforting space, and her presence alone made people feel seen, supported, and uplifted.

Amy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed music of all kinds, especially folk music like Peter, Paul and Mary; audiobooks; movies and television; baking; and creating a cozy, beautiful home. She loved the color blue. Amy also had a passion for skincare and beauty, always sharing thoughtful advice and carefully curated gifts with those she loved. Her style, generosity, and attention to detail made people feel special.

Amy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Stephen; her daughter, Rachel and son-in-law, Tim; her brothers, Danny and Jay; her sister-in-law, Sandra; and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and the countless patients whose lives she touched. She is predeceased by her parents, Muriel and David Kohlenberg.

A memorial service will be held on April 25 at Caryl Community Center in Dover, MA from 2:30 to 5:30 PM. We invite those attending to honor Amy by wearing her favorite color, blue, in any shade.
