Andres "Andy" V. Eyas

Andres "Andy" V. Eyas, age 83, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on April 11, 2026.

Born in the Philippines to the late Florencio and Leoncia Eyas, Andy later served in the U.S. Army and settled in Illinois.

A true innovator, Andy combined his engineering background with his love for the ocean to revolutionize the saltwater fish industry through his unique filtration systems. His entrepreneurial spirit took him around the world and provided countless opportunities for his family in both the U.S. and the Philippines.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresita "Lily" B. Eyas; his brother, Camilo (Sering) Eyas; and his sisters, Marcelina (Candelario) Eyas Aying, and Juana (Saturnino) Andales.

Andy is survived by his children: Eugene (Ericka) Eyas, Emmelyn Eyas, Edward (Stephanie) Eyas, Elinor Eyas, and Elizabeth (Michael) Eyas; his grandchildren, Xander and Tessa Eyas; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members worldwide.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to his dedicated nurses and doctors, especially Ruth Narte; Harbor-UCLA Medical Center; the Torrance Memorial Burn Center; the Los Angeles General Regional Burn Center; and the staff at Affinity Healthcare Resources for their compassionate care.

Mass will be held on Thursday, April 30, at 2:00 p.m. PDT at St. Philomena Catholic Church, 21900 S. Main St., Carson, CA 90745.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. PDT at the chapel located at 6510 Cherry Ave., Long Beach, CA 90805.

Interment will be held on Friday, May 1, at 12:30 p.m. PDT at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518.
