He furthered his education with a Master's in Sociology at UC Davis. His career was marked by a profound shift during the Vietnam era, to roles deeply embedded in social justice. Andrew lived by his principles of class and service, which led him to become a locksmith, a rape counselor, and a self-defense instructor. He also earned a Masters degree in Sociology and taught at Sacramento State University before his retirement.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Laurel Baer; daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Kevin Trout; brother and sister-in-law Luke and Marti Hiken. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Bex, Rachel, and Dave Trout, and great-grandchildren, Oliver and Alexander. Andrew was preceded in death by his son, Adam Stetson.
A private gathering will be held to honor Andrew's life.
