Andrew Laurence Wendell, age 73, passed away on December 14, 2025, while living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was born on June 29, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland to the son of Edward Wendell and Evelyn Wendell. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Kulbaba; his daughter Jenny May Reynolds and her husband Michael; his son Ryan Wendell; his stepdaughters Vanessa Melvin and Victoria Mondor; and his grandchildren Briella Carothers, Mason Reynolds, Marshall Reynolds, Raena Mondor, and Riley Mondor. He is also survived by his sister Amy Junghahns and her husband Bill, his nieces Tara and Megan, and his best friend of more than 61 years, Kevin Riley.
Professionally, Andrew dedicated many years to Lowes home improvement store, where he was well-regarded by his colleagues and customers alike. Outside of his regular job, he pursued his passion for music as a private DJ, enlivening many gatherings with his excellent choice of music and vibrant personality.
He was known for his quick wit and sharp mind. The guy could tell you who won the 1924 World Series or the general from a battle. He was a devoted sports fan—especially of the Chicago Cubs, the Washington Redskins, and the Winnipeg Jets. Andrew loved blues music and was seen frequently at a club 'Clingers' in Hanover, PA.
Those who knew Andrew will remember his humor most of all. One of his favorite jokes was telling people they could have a "bowl of steam" for dinner—a line that perfectly captured his playful nature and his gift for making others laugh. He knew how to keep tense situations light and always had a way of saying the silliest of things.
Andrew will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
