Angela Blasse passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 88. Known affectionately as Angel to her family, and Angie to her friends, she was a beloved educator and coach who left a lasting impact on many through her dedication to teaching and her vibrant personality.
Angie was born on August 22, 1937, and after completing her education at the College of New Jersey and Montclair State, she embarked on a rewarding career in education. She taught Physical Education and Health at Manville High School until her retirement in 1988. During her tenure, Angie was coaching girls' softball and basketball, as well as one of the first boys' golf teams. After retiring, she relocated to California, where she continued to influence lives as a job coach for the State of California.
Beyond her professional life, Angie was an avid golfer, achieving the rare feat of a hole-in-one. She also enjoyed skiing, traveling, and going to lunch with friends and family. Together with her partner, Adriann Errickson, she relished in exploring the U.S., with frequent cross-country trips that spanned from New Jersey to California and Florida. In her younger days she played softball with the Marauders in New Jersey, and also a team in California.
Angie's legacy of love, humor, and generosity is cherished by her partner, Adriann, her nieces, nephews and all the greats, spouses and great-great kids. Debbie Nicholas (Ira, Nikki, Tyler, Jeff, Kelly, Riley), Pete Blasse (Maria, Catie, Sarah), Ron Tomaro (Zuleima), Russ Surace (Carmela, Russell, Michael, Angela), David Surace (Lisa, Jimmy, Jess); Joan Stockberger (Sam, Sami, Megan, Kristi), Jill Stebbing (Mickey, Ashley, Tyler) Karen Favorite (Chuck), sister in law Marie Blasse, brother in law Steve Pellissier. She was preceded in death by her siblings RoseMary Pellissier, Shirley Surace, Joe Blasse, Peter Blasse, John Blasse, her parents Angelina and Peter Blasse, nephews Tom and Joseph Tomaro, niece Laurie Blasse.
A private celebration of Angie's life will be held at a later date. Her life of service, love, and joy will be remembered by all who knew her.
