Angelina Edwards, 87, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, in Celebration, Florida. Born on June 19, 1939 in Havana, she lived a life marked by resilience, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was known by her radiant smile and youthful appearance.
Angelina’s journey was shaped by extraordinary challenges. She endured the hardships of war and the experience of becoming a refugee driven out of her beloved Cuba. Although she also faced many more personal challenges throughout her life, she did so with strength, grace and humor. Despite the adversities, she remained kind and gentle—never allowing hardship to quench her often childlike spirit. She was a vivacious soul who loved to laugh at life's absurdities. She enjoyed dance, Cuban music, and spending time with friends and family.
Above all else, Angelina was a devoted mother who gave selflessly to her children and grandchildren. Her love was steadfast and unconditional, and she sacrificed much to ensure their well-being and happiness. Her perseverance and warmth left a mark on those who knew her.
Although retired for many years, for much of her work life Angelina was a medical biller at Bryn Mawr Hospital. She was known to her family and co-workers as quick witted and intelligent. She was also an avid reader who especially enjoyed books about romance and history.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Raul C. Oliva, and daughters, Maria Oliva-Jurden and Ann Marie Oliva, as well as three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the spring, honoring the life of a woman whose love touched many.
