Anita Teneyuque Torres Martinez was born on April 4, 1940, in Hunter, Texas, to Maximino V. Torres and Isabel Teneyuque Torres. She grew up in a close Hispanic family and learned from an early age the value of hard work, responsibility, and caring for others. Like many of her generation, she worked as a migrant laborer, helping support her family by picking cotton and vegetables in the fields.

Anita was a devoted wife and mother who worked alongside her husband to provide for their family, always ensuring there was a home, food on the table, and stability. She was known for her quiet nature, strong work ethic, and deep love for her family. Throughout her life, she worked in caregiving roles, including caring for individuals with special needs and working in a retirement home, where she showed kindness and concern for those she served.

Anita was the first in her family to learn Bible truth as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and to begin studying the Bible. She shared what she learned with her children and later with her grandchildren, teaching them about Jehovah and the hope found in the Scriptures. Her favorite scripture, Isaiah 41:13, was a source of comfort and strength to her.

Even as dementia affected her later years, Anita remained surrounded by the love of her family. In her final days, she was peacefully supported by her children and grandchildren, united in love. She was also deeply comforted by the loving support of the Christian brotherhood during this tender time.
