Ann Beverly (Clark) Comeau of Williston, Vermont, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, at the age of 76 years old.
Born in Burlington, VT, on June 21, 1949, the daughter of Marvin and Lois (Johnson) Clark, she grew up on the Clark family dairy farm in Williston. A graduate of Champlain Calley Union High School in 1967, she traveled a bit after graduating and then returned to the farm in Williston, where she built a log cabin on a piece of land her father had sold her, just down the road from the farm. Ann worked on the family farm for many years, milking cows, raising calves, and helping with hay harvest.
Ann married her husband, Bernie Comeau, on November 28, 1998, and moved to their home, a couple of miles away in Williston, where she and Bernie built a successful maple sugaring operation on their property. She learned how to become one of the best sugarmakers around and was in charge of boiling operations in the sugarhouse.
Throughout life, Ann was always admired as a very hardworking woman, a great judge of character, and always willing to help friends and neighbors.
She loved animals and always had horses, and was a successful equestrian in her early years; she trained many horses and gave riding lessons to many other people throughout her life. She loved the cows at the family farm and gave them all names, and instilled her good sense of animal husbandry in her niece, Cameron. She always made she her dogs and cats were very well fed, as anyone who knew her would remark on their rotund nature.
Ann is survived by her husband Bernie Comeau, her half-brother Scott Clark, her niece Cameron Clark and husband Dan, and her grand nephew Riley Clark-Harrington. As well as many friends who were like family to her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Marvin and Lois, her brother Wright "BD" Clark, and her niece Chelsea Clark.
A meet and greet will be held in Ann's honor on January 14, 2026, at LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski from 5-7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the local humane society or charity of choice are appreciated.
