Ann E. Csernica passed away at the age of 85 on November 14, 2024. Ann was born on the Upper West Side of New York City in 1939. She was the only child of the late Karl and Eleanor (née Mizel) Herzog. In the early 1950s, the family moved to Staten Island, where Ann attended high school and spent much of her adult life.
Among Ann’s most cherished childhood recollections were the summers she spent as a young girl on her grandfather’s farm near Charlottesville, Virginia — days filled with open fields, family stories, and the kind of freedom that shaped her lifelong sense of adventure.
Ann built a successful 40-year career as an administrative assistant on Wall Street, working in both the insurance and finance industries. She enjoyed indulging her adventurous spirit and traveled to many corners of the world, exploring the vibrant cultures of Asia and the breathtaking wonders of South America.
After conquering Wall Street and much of the world, Ann decided to retire to South Jersey. Alongside her late husband, Ted, she mastered the art of leisure. Whether navigating the waters on their boat, the Hey Charlie, or sipping a perfectly mixed cocktail at sunset, Ann embraced the good life at the Jersey Shore.
Ann is survived by three stepchildren: Chris, Kathy (John), and Matthew (Maria). A private graveside service will be held at the Neshanic Cemetery in Hillsborough, NJ.
She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered, often with a toast raised in her honor. Cheers to you, Ann.
