On January 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends, Ann Marie Kendall passed away after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Ann was born May 1,1961 to Dave and Adele Kendall. Ann, along with her brothers, Steve, Dick, and Jim grew up in the Alameda neighborhood of Portland, attending Madeleine grade school and Saint Mary’s Academy.
Ann headed to Oregon State University, receiving a B.S. in Psychology and a B.S. in Medical Technology. After college, Ann worked for the 911 program in Portland before moving to Spokane. Ann excelled in her career as a medical technologist with Providence Health Spokane.
Love of the outdoors and natural athleticism pushed Ann to seek adventure throughout her life. Ann’s passions included hiking, camping, cycling, weight training, winter sports and all things in nature.
Ann loved animals and her home was filled with a family of cats and dogs over the years. Many animals from rescue centers found a loving and forever home with Ann. They were all waiting for Ann at the Rainbow Bridge.
Ann is survived by her brothers, Jim and Steve (Kate) and her nieces Mary (Fred), Liz (Jeff), Laura and the little ones – Fiona, Liam, Sebastian, and Declan. Ann is also survived by her many treasured friends gathered through a life well lived. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dick, and nephew Michael.
Ann will be remembered for her intelligence, independence, strength, determination, generosity, happy smile, and kind heart.
