Anna Mae (Tietz) Henry, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, surrounded by loving family. Ann lived a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to her family.

Ann was born and raised in Manly, Iowa. She became a registered nurse working in many different hospitals during her lifetime. She demonstrated a strong commitment to her faith, undertaking various church responsibilities that included serving as a lay reader and as Clerk of Session.

Ann proudly served her country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1958 in Rapid City, South Dakota. There she met her husband, Bill. She left military service to focus on raising her children—a role she embraced with love and dedication.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents,Mabel Roberts Tietz and Christoph Tietz; her husband, William (Bill) Charles Henry; her siblings Betty Taylor, Lois Julseth, and Bill Tietz. She is survived by her five children: John (Rita) Henry, Mary (Ross) Hunter, Bob Henry, Susan Hayes, and Paul Henry. She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren: Robby Hayes, Jonathan Hunter, Cristina Van Scoy, Jennifer Hunter, Julie Carpenter, Ashley Livingston, Justin Henry, and Christopher Henry. She had nine precious great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Ann is also survived by her siblings: Erma Smith, Peggy Vosburgh, Tom (Margaret) Tietz, and Roy Tietz.

Ann Loved her community, both her friends in the neighborhood and her beloved church. Throughout her life, friends and neighbors sought her out as "The Nurse" when they were hurt or ill. Ann found joy in reading, gardening, crafting, baking, eating her daily bowl of ice cream, and doing puzzles. She tremendously enjoyed visiting and playing games with her family.

Ann's unwavering faith guided every aspect of her life. She was led by a profound sense of purpose to serve others, and we find comfort in knowing she is now home with Jesus.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 22, 2026, at 02:00 PM at Topsail Presbyterian Church located at 16249 US Highway 17 Hampstead NC. Reception and visitation to follow the service.
