Anna "Sallie" LaSalle Lawrence

1932 - 2026

Anna "Sallie" LaSalle Lawrence, of Flower Mound, TX, died peacefully on 2/1/2026 at age 93. She was born September 15, 1932, in Youngstown, OH.
Known to family and friends as "Sallie", "Ann" or "Annie", she was the daughter of Ethel and Lee Russell. Both parents, as well as her husband Lewis ("Lewy") Lawrence, preceded her in death. Also preceding her are a brother, Fabius "Jack" Russell, D.O., and sister-in-law Carletta Russell. Ann is survived by her younger brother, LaForrest "Duke" Russell and sister-in-law, Stephanie Russell of Philadelphia, PA.
Along with Duke and Stephanie, Ann is survived by her nephews, Steven (April) Russell of Lancaster, PA, Jeffrey Russell of Philadelphia, PA, nieces, Linda Russell of Hercules, CA, Sonja Russell of Chicago, IL, Heidi Russell of Billings, MT; and Danielle Norris of Chicago. Annie had a wonderful role as honorary mother to godchildren Jennifer Williamson-Miller, Nathan Miller, and Christy Brown, with whom she shared special bonds. She leaves behind a host of great nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends who were essentially additional family members. She will be greatly missed.
A resident of the Cleveland area for several years, Ann and Lew moved to the Dallas area more than 30 years ago. She was a school psychologist, who also engaged in multiple civic and community activities, including a later-in-life career doing film and commercial work. She loved kids, education, horses, and was a prominent member and former President of the Double Oak Women's Club. Ann loved to travel and has a keen interest in all cultures - she and Lew traveled the world and particularly enjoyed going to the islands with Duke and Stephanie. A beautiful woman inside and out, her hearty laugh and exuberant embrace of life endeared her to everyone she encountered.
Sallie's ashes will be spread along her favorite riding trail, which is a beautiful acknowledgement of her passion for horses and riding. There will also be celebrations of her life in both Texas and the East Coast, details to be determined shortly.
