Anne Lang Newcomb, 78, passed away on March 17, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Anne was born in Piscataway, New Jersey, on February 27, 1947. She obtained her degree from Florida State University and worked as a librarian in the public school system for many years. She married the love of her life, William (“Bill”) D. Newcomb, Jr., in 1973, and they raised their two sons in Douglasville, Georgia. They eventually relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where they could be closer to their first grandchild. In the later years of her life, Anne and Bill split their time between Charlotte and their home in the beautiful mountain town of Cashiers, North Carolina. Anne particularly loved traveling with Bill, reading, watching the bears play on the Cashiers webcams, and spoiling her grandchildren. She was known for her bright smile and fierce loyalty to her loved ones. A celebration of her life was held on April 26, 2025.
Anne was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, sister Mary Ellen Kerr and brother Thomas Lang.
Anne is survived and mourned by her husband Bill, their son William D. Newcomb, III and his wife Laura, their son Thomas P. Newcomb and his wife Brittany, and their grandchildren Harrison, Langley, Brooks, and Dylan. Her family will love and miss her dearly forever.
