Annette Albertsen, 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 23, 2026, in Farmington, Utah, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was a strong, brave, beautiful and inspiring woman.

Born in Denmark, on June 7, 1946, Annette was the second daughter of Martha and Truels Albertsen. From a young age, she shone a resilient spirit and a deep commitment to family that would guide her throughout her life.

After completing high school, she traveled to different parts of the world. She worked as a tour guide in Germany and voyaged over seas to the United States to be a nanny. She later returned to Denmark, where she married and had two children. Her passion for caring for others led her to pursue degrees in nursing and early childhood development—fields that reflected her nurturing nature and desire to make a meaningful impact. Following her divorce, Annette joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1975 and in 1977 she made the courageous decision to immigrate to America with her two young children to begin a new chapter.

Embracing this new chapter with determination and hope, she settled in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she went on to raise three children as a single mother, constantly sacrificing her own needs for those of her children. To support her family, she operated an in-home daycare for over a decade. Her home became a haven of warmth and care for many children during those years. For a time, she reprised her role as a tour guide at the visitors center on Temple Square, prepared to help with anyone who spoke Danish.

Inspired by her love for her adopted country and motivated by a desire to provide stability for her family, Annette became a U.S. citizen. Her love of Denmark never died and she wore Dannebrog proudly on her sleeve. Her enduring commitment to helping others led her back to school to become a medical assistant. She went on to work at the Bryner Clinic alongside her own children's pediatrician for 26 years. During that time, she formed lasting friendships and cared for countless patients—including all of her own grandchildren.

Later in life, Annette once again, lovingly embraced motherhood by selflessly taking on the role of raising three of her grandchildren. Her unwavering devotion to family remained a guiding force through every stage of her life.

Annette is survived her three children: Jeppe Albertsen (Leigh), Trine Albertsen, and Kashif Khan; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Inge-lise Kerr (Douglas) and great-grandson Warner Albertsen.

Annette's wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest with her beloved Soster Inge-lise, Far Truels, and Faster Ellen in Mendon, Utah. A funeral service will be held on February 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Farmington 23rd Ward, located at 1395 South 200 East, Farmington, Utah. In honor of Annette's vibrant spirit, guests are encouraged to wear something purple.

Annette exemplified strength, compassion, resilience, and selflessness throughout her life. Her enduring love touched many lives. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
