Annette was the second of five children born to Rudolph and Mary Skolek. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in Illinois in 1973.
She married John White, Jr. and had two daughters in Bridgeview, Illinois. By the mid 90s, she bravely moved to Orland Park, Illinois with her daughters and devoted her life to independently raising them. By 2003, she was ready to start a new chapter in life and moved to Surprise, Arizona. There, she would be able to visit Las Vegas more frequently, where she and her lifelong best friend could gamble together.
In 2010, her first granddaughter, Francesca, the light of her life, was born. She helped raise her and delighted in each one of her milestones. In 2012, her first grandson, Ozzie, was born. He quickly became her pride and joy, and she reveled in his accomplishments. In 2017, her second grandson, Zakai, was born. That same year she was diagnosed with cancer. Zakai became a symbol of hope and courage for her as she watched him grow while she defeated cancer. In 2024, her second granddaughter, Phoenix, was born, reminding her that life can be full of joyful surprises when you least expect them.
Annette passed away on January 7, 2026 from aspiration pneumonia, just short of 71 years of age. Her legacy will live on for many generations to come through pictures, stories, and recipes (especially her famous eggplant parmesan, which her family will always attempt to replicate, but it will never quite compare). She is survived by her two daughters, Michelle Reyes (Vilma) and Valerie Marcellette (Michael) and her four grandchildren.
