Annette Cecelia Evans Duggan,66,passed away February 5th at her home. Annette was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 30th 1959, to Robert and Dorothy Evans.
Annette was raised in Kansas City . Before graduating Southwest High School, Annette had already become the proud president of the Jamie Lyn Bauer Fan Club, a star from a popular soap called “The Young and The Restless”. Annette was in charge of all the mailings and keeping fans updated, at which she excelled . Bauer herself had Annette flown to California to spend a week with her .
After highschool, Annette attended Rockhurst College where she obtained a degree in English. A natural fit, she was then hired by Rockhurst admissions where she met a made many good friends. Pursuing excellence and furthering her career, Annette later obtained her MBA from Webster University.
Over the years Annette pursued many different careers, spending a great majority of her professional life in the insurance industry in several capacities. Annette loved being able to help her clients find the right coverage and navigate the intricacies of the insurance world.
Annette loved her family and took great pride in bragging about all of her nieces and nephews and all of their accomplishments. She was fondly referred to as “Aunt Net-Net”.
Annette was also a talented seamstress as well as crocheter, gifting many new baby blankets to families over the years. And just like her mother, Annette loved cooking for others and bringing food to friends and family in their time of need as well as entertaining at her home .
If you knew one thing about Annette, it was that she loved dogs ! Over the years her love of dogs led her to become certified in dog training , as well as running a dog sitting business from her home . Most recently Annette had two dogs , Keelie Rose and Finnegan, that she absolutely adored. Sadly , Keelie Rose and Finnegan both passed away within 24 hours of Annette’s passing .
Annette was preceded in death by her father, Robert Harry Evans, her brother , Bobby Evans, bother in law Mike Casper, her stepfather William Shannon and her beloved mother Dorothy Shannon. Annette is survived by her two sisters Pamela Casper and Susie Knowles (Scott) , as well as many nieces and nephews and their spouses whom she loved.
In lieu of flowers , the family requests donations in Annette’s memory be made to KC Pet Project, or your favorite animal charity.
