Anthony Frank Corrao, age 86, passed away February 6, 2026 at home in Venice, Florida with his family by his side.
Frank was born on March 21, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. He worked and retired from the New York Housing Authority, where he was awarded the NYC heroism award and medal.
He moved to Manchester, Connecticut after he retired and lived there with his family for 29 years. He recently moved to Venice, Florida in October of 2025 to enjoy the beautiful sunshine with his wife.
Frank was preceded in death by his son, Francis “Frankie” Peter Corrao; and his brother, John Corrao.
Frank is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 66 years, Carmela “Millie” Corrao; his sister, Rosemary Corrao of Brooklyn, New York; his son, Richard Corrao and daughter-in-law, Lisa Doran Corrao of Manchester, Connecticut; his grand-daughters, Vanessa, Alexis, and Melina Corrao of Manchester, Connecticut; and his niece, Janine Miceli of Brooklyn, New York.
Frank (also known as “Pop” to his grand-daughters) was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He spent his life creating cherished memories with his family. He was a coach for his sons’ sports teams when they were young. He loved to dance with his wife, Millie, and always showered her with flowers and chocolates on the many special occasions that they shared together in their 66 years of marriage. He loved to make her breakfast and coffee every morning. When they were little, he taught his grand-daughters, Vanessa, Alexis, and Melina, how to ride their bikes and play sports; and as they grew up, he taught them each how to drive. The memories Pop created with his grand-daughters will always hold a special place in their hearts.
He loved to spend time outdoors and enjoyed gardening. He also shared a love of watching sports with his son, Rich, after retirement.
He was a cherished friend to Rita and Larry Bates, Diana Clancy, Kathy and Richard Smith, Ann Kegerreis, and Gabe Martins. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and playing cards with them.
His family would like to extend a special thanks to Frank Knieper and Blanka Przeslakowski from Home Safe; as well as Jess Duarte from Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Florida.
Frank will be greatly missed by all those in his life. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
