Arlene Beth Murphy-Gagne

Arlene Beth Murphy-Gagne passed away peacefully on December 21st, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She faced her illness with strength, grace, and resilience, surrounded by the love of her family.
Beth was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia Curley. She was a graduate of Framingham South High School and Bay Path University. Throughout much of her adult life, Beth dedicated herself to her career, working for Trans-Systems and for the United States Department of Defense during her years living in Frankfurt, Germany.
One of seven siblings, Beth cherished her close-knit family and held especially fond memories of summers spent at the family home on Lake Winnipesaukee, where she was an excellent water skier. She also enjoyed spending time on the golf course, often ending a round with a well-earned cold Coors Light.
Beth leaves behind her devoted husband, Dennis Gagne. She was a loving and proud mother to her only son, Hugh Joseph Murphy, and his wife, MaryEllen, of Bedford, New Hampshire. She was a cherished grandmother to Hannah, Jack, and Lyllian, who brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her brother Thomas Curley and his wife Nancy of Washington, North Carolina; her sister Gigi Forsberg and her husband John of Meredith, New Hampshire; her sister Laura Hurd and her husband Chris of Laconia, New Hampshire; and her brother Michael Curley and his wife Lupe of Apache Junction, Arizona. Beth is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces, extended family members, and her treasured circle of lifelong friends.
Beth was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Virginia Curley; her first husband, Richard Murphy; and her brothers, Jack and Mark Curley.
Beth will be remembered for her strength, kindness, loyalty, and the deep love she held for her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, January 9th at 9:30AM. Held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church (16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, New Hampshire).
We welcome Beth's family and friends to celebrate her life at a reception immediately following the funeral mass at the John O'Leary Community Center (4 Church Street, Merrimack, New Hampshire).
