Arthur Maxwell Sennholtz, Jr. (“Art”), of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, surrounded by his family while in the compassionate care of Halifax Hospice.

Art was born on June 19, 1945, in Long Beach, California, to Arthur Maxwell Sennholtz, Sr. (1920–1999) and Dorothy Evelyn Andersen (1921–1978). He later moved to Florida, where he graduated from DeLand High School in 1963.

In 1965, Art married Dianne Dixon (1948–2022) of DeLeon Springs. Together they welcomed one son, Gregory William Sennholtz (“Greg”), born in 1969. The couple divorced in 1973.

Art married Janet Elaine Dawes (1949–2024) of Daytona Beach in 1974. They welcomed one son, Michael Todd Sennholtz (“Todd”), born in 1976. Jan preceded Art in death in 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Art dedicated much of his professional life to Information Technology, working for the Coca-Cola Company throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He later continued his IT career with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, where he served through the 1990s and 2000s before retiring in 2011.

Art had a deep love for music, sailing, and making everyone laugh. He was known for his quick wit, wild sense of humor, and his ability to bring levity to any room he entered. Those who knew him will remember his stories, his dad jokes, his laughter, and his unmistakable presence.

He is survived by his sister, Marcia Sennholtz of Clayton, North Carolina; his two sons; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date in accordance with Art’s wishes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Art’s memory to Halifax Health Hospice.

Art will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
