Arthur LeRoy Dougherty Jr.
January 31, 1964 – March 12, 2026

Arthur LeRoy “Art” Dougherty Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 62.

Art was born on January 31, 1964, to Arthur LeRoy Dougherty Sr. and Wanda Vanderford. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Sr.; his mother, Wanda; his stepmother, Rose Dougherty; and his brother, Lance Dougherty.

A proud native of Duncanville, Art later made his home in East Texas, where he found peace surrounded by family, friends, and the many dogs he lovingly took in. He never turned away a stray and had a heart big enough for them all.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Brandi Dougherty; his children Matthew Luke Dougherty, Kourtnee Dougherty, Cole Riddle, Sarah Riddle, Tyler Riddle, Alexa Dougherty, Chante’ Dougherty, Misti Ezell, and Tiffany Shay; and his cherished grandchildren Kali, Grayson, Walker, Briggs, Brian, Jordyn, Aiden, Seth, David, Wyatt, Dalton, and Caden. He is also survived by his loving adopted in-law parents, Leonard and Sue Riddle, who meant so much to him.

Known to most simply as Art, he was a man with a big heart and a lifelong passion for monster trucks. His love for the sport took him around the world, doing what he loved most—working with monster trucks, traveling, and meeting people who shared his enthusiasm. He also enjoyed customizing vehicles, creating striking paint designs, and installing stereos that showcased his creativity and attention to detail.

Art’s world revolved around his wife and family. He adored them beyond measure and took great pride in spoiling Brandi, the love of his life. He never missed a chance to make her smile or show her how deeply she was loved. Above all, Art’s greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Art was known for his humor and quick wit, always ready with a laugh or one of his favorite sayings—“Do you not know who I think I am?” and “Fire and hold!”—phrases that perfectly captured his playful spirit and larger-than-life personality.

He will be remembered for his adventurous heart, generosity, and the deep love he showed to his family, friends, and animals. His presence will be deeply missed, but his warmth, laughter, and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11th at 10:00 AM at Life Church, 5400 W. Risinger Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76123.
