With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we share the loss of Arthur J. Walsh III, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend.
Art passed away on February 19, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida at the age of 77. He leaves behind a legacy defined by love, dedication, laughter, and genuine connection to those around him. He was a steady presence, a source of wisdom and guidance, and someone whose strength and warmth made life feel more grounded and secure.
He was firmly rooted in Northern Kentucky, where he was raised, attended school, and formed lifelong bonds with his community. His years at Dixie Heights High School were especially meaningful, creating friendships and memories that stayed with him throughout his life. That connection never faded, Northern Kentucky was always home in his heart.
After meeting and marrying the love of his life, Holly Ann Raymond, Art proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force before beginning a long career as an air traffic controller, a role that reflected his focus, responsibility, and calm under pressure. In early adulthood, when faced with the need to redefine himself, he answered a different calling—one centered on compassion and human connection. He became a social worker, counselor, and therapist, embracing the full range of human emotion and encouraging others to do the same. He truly believed in “feeling all the feels” and helping others find the courage to feel and share theirs.
He had a gift for bringing people together. Whether it was gathering around a table for a great meal with even better friends, dancing without hesitation, attending plays and finding great appreciation in the stories and performances, or simply being the life of the party, he created lasting memories. Art was especially proud to raise his children in Northern Kentucky, surrounded by familiar faces and the community that meant so much to him.
In his later years, he embraced life with a sense of adventure, semi-retiring to Florida alongside his beloved wife of 57 years. Together, they created countless memories cruising, traveling, and enjoying time with and hosting family and friends. Those years are a reflection of the life they built rooted in love, commitment, and shared joy.
He is survived by his wife, Holly Raymond Walsh; his children, Chris (Cathy) and Beth (Clayton); his five adored grandchildren, Austin, Brandon (Madelynne), Hannah, Emma, and McKenna; and his first great-grandchild, Hazel; as well as his sister, Barbara Walsh Lewis (Hugh) and his nephews, Justin (Cordi) and Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur J. Walsh Jr. (1996) and Dorothy Dold Walsh (2009).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Erlanger Christian Church, 27 Graves Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018. On Saturday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m., family and friends will gather at the Battle Grove Cemetery Meditation Building, 531 Pike Street, Cynthiana, KY 41031, where a graveside service will immediately follow.
In honor of his affinity for Northern Kentucky, and in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Art’s memory using the links provided to support Erlanger Christian Church and Dixie Heights High School, places that held special meaning to him and his family.
Though his absence is profoundly felt, we find comfort in the fond memories, the stories and laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the friends and family he cherished. He will forever remain in our hearts.
