Audrey Jimenez passed away on January 12, 2026 at the age of 93.
Audrey Mae Monson was born on May 23, 1932 in San Pedro, CA. Her family moved to San Leandro in 1937, where Audrey resided for the rest of her life.
She and her husband Michael (Mike) Jimenez were married for 58 years until Mike’s death in 2009. Together, Audrey and Mike had full lives raising their two children, spending time with extended family in the East Bay and beyond, hosting dinner parties, playing bridge, bowling in leagues at Manor Bowl and Castro Village Bowl, and traveling (notable trips included Disneyland during its opening year, the 1960 Winter Olympics, a cruise to Alaska, and Spain).
Audrey was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an avid seamstress and craftswoman, fashioning handmade Christmas decorations, many of which are still in excellent condition to this day. Audrey adored animals, and her house was a menagerie of pets throughout the years, home to dogs, cats, birds, and an occasional stray critter who found its way in.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Michele Jimenez; son-in-law Andrew Gray; brother Ken Monson; granddaughter Katie Jimenez-Gray; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their children.
No service is planned at this time, but we invite you to enjoy a glass of wine or a sweet treat in Audrey’s memory (Klondike bars and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups were her favorites).
