August Edward Dinova "Ed", 91, returned to the Lord on June 20, 2023 at his home in Naples, Florida.

He was the loving husband of Elsie (Reale) Dinova with whom he shared 66 years of marriage and three wonderful children. Ed was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on August 13, 1931 and was the son of Leonard Dinova (deceased) and Julia (Tata) Dinova (deceased).

Surviving to cherish his memory are Ed's wife and his daughter, Loreen (Lori), her husband James Partridge of Naples, FL, his daughter, Judy, her husband Steve H. Payne of Englewood, FL, his son, Edward A. Dinova, his wife Agnes (Brown) of Naples, FL along with grandchildren, Steven C. Payne of Port Charlotte, FL, Jane Dinova of Naples, FL and Sarah N. Payne of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Kathryn Reale Veneziano of Clinton, CT along with a loving extended family and many special friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Doris (Dinova) Mahony of Manchester, Michigan.

Ed was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War. He served on the USS Wisconsin, BB-64, from 1951-1952 and the USS New Port News, CA-148, from 1952-1955 where he served as the Captain's Driver. He traveled extensively while in the Navy from the Panama Canal to Hawaii, Cuba, Japan, Korea, and various countries in Europe. Ed earned the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal "E", Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. In December of 2000, Ed participated in the homecoming celebration of the USS Wisconsin, BB-64, where he rode on the battleship as it was moved from dry dock to Norfolk, Virginia where it was then converted to a museum.

He worked many years as a meat cutter at the Dinova Four Corners store in Middlebury, CT where after he got out of the Navy he was reunited with his future bride.

Ed was a resident of Naples, FL for 50 years where he enjoyed fishing, boating, the sunshine and warm weather. He worked as a meat cutter/manager at Sunshine Supermarket, now known as Wynn's Market, prior to retiring in Naples, FL.

Ed and Elsie enjoyed annual vacations in their station wagon with their children. After a family vacation to the opening of Walt Disney World in 1970 he followed Hwy 41, Tamiami Trail, down the West Coast and up the East Coast of FL on the way home to CT. When he got to Naples he stopped for gas at the Mooring's Mobil in front of Grants and got out, looked around and said "I think I'll move here". Two years later he made it happen, he moved his family to Naples from CT so that he wouldn't have to shovel snow anymore before going to work every day.

Ed learned his handyman and building skills from his father-in-law (Dominic Reale Sr.) and for many years used these skills to help build his first home along with helping his children build and repair their many homes over the years. He spent countless hours talking to his grandchildren about his Navy service days. Ed loved to show his grandchildren how to take apart different electronics and explain how they worked and how to use tools in his garage. In his elder years Ed enjoyed playing cards with his neighbors and doing 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles until his passing.

A private family viewing will be followed by a public visitation and service for friends and family on Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Fuller Funeral Home followed by a committal ceremony with military honors at the Naples Memorial Garden, Naples, FL.
