Augustine (Austin) Donnelly

Augustine (Austin) Donnelly passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 87 in Thunder Bay, ON. Born on December 23, 1937, Austin led a life marked by a quiet intelligence and a shy demeanor.
Austin began his career as an apprentice auto electrician at the age of 16. His work took him far from his native England, with stints in South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and finally Canada, where he settled, became a citizen, and embraced his new home. It was in Canada that he met his beloved wife, Linda, and where they welcomed their daughter, Laura.
He was a man of many interests, passionately engaging with computer technology until his later years and frequently visiting Hillcrest Park to indulge in his love of photography.
Austin is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Laura; brother, Leo; sister-in-law, Moira; and sister-in-laws, Eleanor Watts and Helen Johnstone, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Donnelly; in-laws Dorothy and Harry Jones; cousin and best friend, Gerard Cullen; and in-laws Stuart and Lillian Ronald, and Ken and Shirley Ronald, as well as nephews Steven Donnelly and Darrell Watts.
In keeping with Austin's wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Thunder Bay Humane Society, supporting a cause close to his heart.
